POLICIES & REQUIREMENTS
Our requirement mandates for;
VACCINATIONS
For the health and safety of our guests, all dogs must have up-to-date records for all vaccinations listed - no exceptions. We do not accept home vaccinations or titer tests in lieu of vaccinations for any pets. Vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. We prefer those vaccinations be administered 7 days prior to check-in for boarding and 2 days for attending daycare.

BREAKS
Long breaks in attendance, especially with young pups can cause problems within the pack, as the excitement of returning and not following rules can cause your dog and the pack undue stress. So for that reason, as a member you are required to attend a minimum of once a week, to uphold those rules and boundaries with the pack members. And you need to attend a minimum of once a week every month ongoing, to maintain membership, until you provide notice to pull out.

You can attend fulltime or any number of days during the week as needed, but you need to commit to specific days throughout the week and to uphold that for each month. A missed day or two left over due to unforeseen circumstances can be rolled to the next month, if necessary.

CANCELATION NOTICE REQUIREMENT
Members are required to provide two weeks’ notice prior to cancelling their membership. This ensures that adequate time is given for processing the cancellation request. Members responsibility for renewal period - If the two weeks’ notice is not given before a mid-month renewal, the member will be responsible for maintaining the membership spot for the subsequent two weeks of the next month.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Attending other daycares and possibly exposing the pack to a virus or pest going around town and bringing it into the daycare is something we try to avoid. Please inform us of this, so we can monitor the dogs closely and communicate that to all our members and to the other daycares in order to protect the dogs and their owners in the community.

Dogs on a raw diet can have negative effects on our pack, as it encourages Coprophagia. It’s basically recycled meat (poop) and smells and tastes different from kibble, and some dogs will eat it. So please, no raw food. If your dog is doing this, it could be a sign on a lack of potassium, so feeding them banana as a treat might help.

TRAINING
Not training your dog could be reason for cancellation of membership, and no refund will be given. Calm assertive energy only as high excited energy is the trigger for most dog fights. If Mimi offers training advice, and it is ignored, you could lose your spot. No refunds will be issued.
Following advice from Mimi will be crucial in addressing behavioural issues and the advice is the best possible and proven pack leader advice to go along with our open concept dog daycare. Assuming your training is all you need, and to dismiss the knowledge and experience to run a pack of dogs is not wise in this situation. This could be reason to lose your spot in daycare.

Aggression in a dog will be grounds for dismissal of daycare. This aggression usually shows its ugly teeth around 1.5 to 2 years old and is always due to a lack of calm leadership and basic rules and boundaries.

Treat training behavioral issues will only compound issues and will work against the pack training here at daycare, as we don't treat train here. I expect commands be followed without any bribes. Petting a dog with an unstable mind is only telling the dog it's okay to feel this way, so avoid soft spoken works and petting if the dog is showing signs of fear or anxiety. Just stay calm, breathe and assess the dog and wait for a more calm energy before proceeding.
Treat training for obedience works great but treat training to gain leadership and calming unstable energy will only result in dogs only listening if treats are available and ignores the issue at hand. And it can do the opposite of what you are wanting to see. It does nothing to establish calm leadership and control. If this training advice is ignored, this daycare might not be for you.
SPAY OR NEUTER
Unaltered dogs over the age of 8 months old will not qualify for membership. Male pups that start daycare early in their puppy stage can be unaltered, but when the humping starts, he will need to take a break and get altered to maintain his membership. A female can attend up until there are obvious signs of a heat cycle approaching. She will need to stay home until it has passed and it is always wise to wait at least a month before spaying her, as you want all the pheromones to drain away, or she might always be a hump victim for the rest of her life.
DAMAGE
Damage to daycare property will be at the dog owner's expense. This does not include normal wear and tear. Continuous destructive behavior can result in loss of daycare spot with no refund on unused days. This includes boarding dogs.

ILLNESS
If your dog is sick and needs to miss a day or more of daycare, we need to be notified immediately so we can alert the pack members to look for sign of the same illness. If your dog is suffering from diarrhea, or throwing up, please keep him or her home. Dog should be free of these symptoms for 2 days before coming back to the pack. You will not lose your days if you notify us. By maintaining a good diet, and only giving your dog good quality dog food, not human food or excessive treats will lessen the chance of tummy upset. Raw pumpkin and over-cooked white rice can help get the tummy back to feeling good and ending the mess. The tummy and intestines are sore and inflamed, so feeding them kibble at this time will only cause more acid to burn the system and cause even more of a mess.

GROOMING AND HYGIENE
Your dog needs to be clean, brushed and free of knots and should smell clean. My home is open to the pack, so let's make sure its a comfy and inviting place. To protect the dogs, as well as the furniture and floors in my home, please keep up with the grooming of your dogs' nails and any excessive hair on their pads. If I find the dog is overdue, I can refuse daycare for that dog until the dog is groomed and nails are done, and no refund will be offered for missed days. Notice will be given first so you can rectify the problem.

LATE PAYMENTS
Your invoice needs to be paid by the last day of the month. We now have point of sale here at the daycare, so you can pay via debit or credit for your convenience. Constant late payment can be cause for dismissal. Credit card transactions can take up to 3 days to arrive on account, and when a weekend is involved, it could take even longer, so if you are paying your invoice online, please make sure the payment is done a few days before the 1st of the month so the payment arrives in time.

VACCINATIONS
Below is a list of vaccines, but please read and follow advice below for a healthy happy pup.
De worming is usually given by vet, but please check to ensure your puppy has been dewormed with the follow up treatment. A Flea/tick and worm treatment program is required at our daycare as an outbreak of fleas or worms could cause us to have to close down for cleanup. I'm proud to say that in 20 years we have never had one. Let's keep it that way.
Please pay special attention to the health of your dog before boarding or using daycare and make sure he/she is healthy and free from the following: Kennel cough, Fleas, Lice or any external parasites/Internal parasites. Parvo, Rabies, Distemper or any other-contagious disease. Eye infection, runny nose, vomiting or diarrhea, or bloated belly in pups, which could potentially be worms, or worse... fatal.
As the health and safety of all our pack members is of the utmost importance to us, we reserve the right to refuse any dog at our discretion if we feel that these conditions are not met.
DHPP ~ Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus. Every 1 to 3 years.
Leptospirosis ~ If your dog frequents dog parks or takes hikes, attend dog daycare, this should be given every year.
Bordetella ~ Required every 12 months for social dogs. Intra-nasal is only given once a year, but the injection needs a boost the following month. Please note, many veterinarians administer this vaccine only by request.
