POLICIES & REQUIREMENTS

VACCINATIONS
For the health and safety of our guests, all dogs must have up-to-date records for all vaccinations listed - no exceptions. We do not accept home vaccinations or titer tests in lieu of vaccinations for any pets. Vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. We prefer those vaccinations be administered 7 days prior to check-in for boarding and 2 days for attending daycare.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Please inform us of any changes to your dog schedule, like a new dog park or a visit to another daycare, so we can monitor the dogs closely and communicate to all our guests if we see a symptom shows up, so we can also let the other daycare know in order to protect the dogs and their owners in the community. Dogs running a fever should stay home. Glossy eyes and a hot dry nose is an indicator of a fever. Dogs with a runny nose could be allergy related, but should be checked just in case. Dogs with upset tummies should stay home to avoid spreading dirt all over the daycare deck and pet beds etc.

TRAINING / BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES
Not training your dog could be reason for cancellation of services. You must exhibit calm assertive energy at drop and pickup time, as highly excited energy can be a trigger for most dog fights. Bringing a highly excited dog into the pack is not safe. Rewarding the dog with petting or a 'praise' during highly excited energy will only validate that state as a good thing and that goes against the philosophy that calm energy is a balanced and healthy pack.

Constant barking is grounds for losing your spot. Larger commercial dog daycare centres allow for a lot of barking, but that is not the case here at our boutique home dog daycare. We have families that surround us and the city bylaw does not allow for constant barking all day.

SPAY OR NEUTER
Unaltered dogs over the age of 1 years old will not qualify for membership. Male pups that start daycare early in their puppy stage can be unaltered, but when the humping starts, he will need to take a break and get altered to maintain his membership. A female can attend up until there are obvious signs of a heat cycle approaching. She will need to stay home until it has passed and it is always wise to wait at least a month before spaying her, as you want all the pheromones to drain away, or she might always be a hump victim for the rest of her life.

DAMAGE
Damage to daycare property will be at the dog owner's expense. This does not include normal wear and tear. Continuous destructive behaviour can result in loss of daycare spot with no refund on unused days. This includes boarding dogs.

ILLNESS
If your dog is sick we need to be notified immediately so we can alert the pack to look for sign of the same illness. If your dog is suffering from diarrhea, or throwing up, please keep him or her home. Dog should be free of these symptoms for 2 days before coming back to the pack. You will not lose your days if you notify us. By maintaining a good diet, and only giving your dog good quality dog food, not human food or excessive treats will lessen the chance of tummy upset. Raw pumpkin and over-cooked white rice can help get the tummy back to feeling good and ending the mess. The tummy and intestines are sore and inflamed, so feeding them kibble at this time will only cause more acid to burn the system and cause even more of a mess.

GROOMING AND HYGIENE
Your dog needs to be clean, brushed and free of knots and should smell clean. My home is open to the pack, so let's make sure its a comfy and inviting place. To protect the dogs, as well as the furniture and floors in my home, please keep up with the grooming of your dogs' nails and any excessive hair on their pads. If I find the dog is overdue, I can refuse daycare for that dog until the dog is groomed and nails are done, and no refund will be offered for missed days. Notice will be given first so you can rectify the problem.

PAYMENTS
Your invoice needs to be paid by the last day of the month to maintain your membership. You are responsible for your spot each week, up until you give notice to cancel your membership. We require two weeks notice prior to renewal of next month. You own your spots on your assigned days and if you don't attend and pull a 'no show', your day will be lost. A 24 hr notice is required if you have to miss a day, and you can reschedule your day to another day that week, or before the months end. Sick days should be made up the same month if possible, with some exceptions. We now have point of sale here at the daycare, so you can pay via debit or credit for your convenience. Credit card payments must be made a couple of days before the last day of the month, as it takes a couple of days for our merchant service to deposit payment into our account. Constant late payment can be cause for dismissal.
